Hamilton County Rotary Run

The 9th Annual Rotary Run took place on August 8th, 2020.

The lead male and female in the 5K run were separated by less than two seconds. The winner for the males was 15 year old Evansville runner Tyler Myers. The winner for the females was Mt.Vernon runner Kate Bushue who currently runs for Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. In the 10K Race, the male winner was the Race Director Samuel Wilson with a time of 40:32. The female winning 10K Runner was Mt. Vernon runner Cindy Purcell with a time of 43:35. In the 5K Walk Benton's Tony Miksanek (34:53) and Harrisburg's Shirley Fearheily (36:39) picked up another one of their many wins in McLeansboro. The Kid's 1/2 Mile Fun Run was the last race of the day and had a good group of runners with McLeansboro's own Ethynn Wilson taking 1st place with a time of 3:45 and Dahlgren's Adlee Wellen was the girl's winner with a stout time of 4:03.

The race had over 85 participants registered. The money from the race will be used to support many of the Rotary Programs.

The 10th Annual Rotary Run will take place on March 13th, 2021 @ East Side Grade School, McLeansboro, Illinois​

Description

The 2021 Hamilton County Rotary Run is scheduled to take place on March 13th, 2021 at the East Side Grade School in McLeansboro. We will have a 10k Run,  5k Run/Walk and Kid’s Half Mile Fun Run. Registration will begin behind East Side Grade School. Ample parking will be available On-Site.  The race will be electronically timed by the River to River Runners.  The 10k course will start in the general vicinity and will run the course two times. *

Where Does the Money  Go?

The money raised from this race will go to support multiple programs.

Previous Races have gone to support the following: Building Water Wells in Malawi Africa, Relay For Life, Stockings for Sailors, Children Caught in the Middle, 4-H Community Garden, East Side / Dahlgren Accelerated Reading, Shelter Box, This Able Veteran, Hamilton County Band, Hungry Hearts, Memory of Claire Gelfius, Track Restoration, The Amy Center, and the Hamilton County Library!

7:00 A.M. – 7:50 A.M. – Onsite Registration (Registration will continue after that for the kid’s fun run)

8:00 A.M. – 5k Walk

8:05 A.M. – 5k / 10k Run

9:15 A.M. – 1/2 Mile Kid’s Fun Run

Overall Awards will be given to the Top Three Males and Females.

5K Run, 10K Run, and 5K Walk.

Awards will be given to the top male and female in each age group of 5k and 10k Run

Age Groups are 9 & Under and then 5 year age groups up to 65 & Over.

All Kid’s will receive a finisher’s award!
